Technical Finance Business Partner (Interim)
Location: Derby (Hybrid - up to 3 days on-site)
Duration: Up to 12 months
Rate: Up to £651/day (Umbrella) or £473.63/day (PAYE)
Start Date: Mid-May
We are supporting a leading UK-based engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Technical Finance Business Partner to join their Civil Aerospace division on an interim basis.
This is a high-impact role within a central Technical Finance team, focused on complex accounting issues, financial governance, and audit management. You’ll work closely with senior finance stakeholders and external auditors, playing a key role in ensuring robust financial control and compliance across a large, global business unit.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters in line with IFRS and internal finance policies
*Partner with operational and finance teams to support key accounting judgements and business decisions
*Lead and manage the external audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors
*Prepare high-quality audit papers and present key issues to senior leadership and audit committees
*Drive financial risk management by challenging accounting treatments and ensuring reporting accuracy
*Lead quarterly balance sheet reviews and enforce corporate governance frameworks
*Provide financial assurance across investments, bids, and procurement activities
*Contribute to the Financial Control Leadership Team, driving alignment and best practice across teams
What We’re Looking For
*Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
*Strong technical accounting expertise with solid IFRS knowledge
*Background in external audit (preferred)
*Experience working in large, complex organisations
*Strong understanding of FX and statutory accounting treatments
*Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
*Proven ability to manage ambiguity and solve complex financial issues
*Able to distil complex topics into clear, concise insights
