Our client is a finance consulting firm providing outsourced accounting and financial management services to small and medium-sized businesses across a range of industries, with a focus on construction clients.
They seek a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to support their client portfolio. This role will primarily focus on accounts payable and managing all areas of invoicing for clients, alongside broader bookkeeping responsibilities and some credit control duties. This is a permanent role, working circa 30 hours per week with some flexibility around the hours are arranged. The salary available is up to £30,000 pro rata. The role operates remotely but it is essential you live within commuting distance of Colchester for regular meetings.
You will work as part of a team to deliver accurate and timely financial support, ensuring our client records are well-maintained and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage accounts payable processes for multiple clients
*Oversee end-to-end invoicing, including raising, processing, and tracking invoices
*Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
*Support accounts receivable and assist with credit control activities
*Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
*Assist with VAT returns and basic compliance tasks
*Support month-end processes
*Liaise with clients to resolve queries and gather required information
*Use cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
About You
*Proven experience in a bookkeeping role
*Strong experience in accounts payable and invoicing processes
*Good understanding of credit control principles
*Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Strong organisational and time management skills
*Comfortable working remotely and managing your own workload
*Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
