Accounts Receivable Assistant – Fluency in German, Italian or French Required

Salary: £30,000 – £32,500 per annum
We are currently recruiting an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join a busy finance team, supporting credit control and accounts receivable activities. This role is ideal for someone at trainee or early-career level who is looking to develop their finance experience in a structured, office-based environment.
Fluency in either German, Italian, or French is essential for this role, due to regular communication with international customers.
Key Responsibilities
*Maintain accurate customer account records, including outstanding invoices and payment terms
*Review customer credit limits and payment histories
*Assist with setting up new customer accounts and maintaining existing records
*Raise and issue sales invoices accurately and on time
*Follow up on outstanding invoices and liaise with customers to prompt payment
*Reconcile incoming payments against outstanding invoices
*Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies
*Assist with the collection of overdue accounts
*Contact customers to discuss outstanding balances and agree payment arrangements
*Escalate unresolved issues to senior credit control staff where necessary
*Prepare reports on aged debt, outstanding receivables, and related metrics
*Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement
*Support the credit control team with ad-hoc finance tasks
*Keep up to date with best practices and regulations relating to credit control
