Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer
3 Months+ | Full-Time | Up to £55 per hour (Umbrella)
Position: Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer
Organisation: Local Authority
Duration: Initial 3-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension
Working Pattern: Full-Time
Working Arrangement: Mainly remote working; occasional court or office attendance may be required
Rate: Up to £55 per hour (Umbrella)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis.
The successful candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority or similar public-sector environment and will demonstrate strong expertise in Housing Litigation, with a particular focus on Housing Disrepair matters.
Key Responsibilities
*Handling all aspects of legal work relating to housing disrepair claims
*Managing a full caseload of disrepair matters through all stages of pre-litigation and litigation
*Ensuring compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol
*Representing the Council in court and undertaking advocacy where appropriate
*Negotiating and drafting complex and sensitive legal documentation
*Assessing evidence, advising on prospects of success, and providing clear case strategy
*Progressing cases in line with public interest considerations
Requirements
*Previous experience working within a Local Authority or Housing Association
*Strong knowledge of Housing Disrepair and Housing Litigation
*Ability to work autonomously in a locum capacity
