Job Description:
Role: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Cheshire
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (40 hours per week)
We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established, growing precision engineering manufacturer operating within highly regulated, safety-critical sectors.
The Role
As a Mechanical Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring all components and finished products meet strict quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
*Carrying out first-off inspections of CNC-machined components
*Using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, height gauges, plug gauges)
*Interpreting engineering drawings and checking components against specifications (imperial)
*Completing quality control documentation and supporting issue resolution
*Managing acceptance/rejection of parts via ERP systems
*Supporting quality processes using advanced equipment such as CMM or FARO arms (training provided)
Requirements
*Mechanical or engineering background (apprenticeship or equivalent experience)
*Experience within precision engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or aerospace environments
*Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
*Familiarity with ISO9001:2015 quality standards
*Comfortable using inspection tools and completing documentation
*Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
