Job Description:
Interim Bookkeeper (1 month initial contract, potential to extend)
Start date: 11 May 2026 | On-site | 4-5 days per week
We are looking for an experienced Interim Bookkeeper to join a small, collaborative team, reporting to the General Manager. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly take ownership of day-to-day finance processes and ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities*Processing sales and purchase invoices, including accruals
*Bank reconciliations using Xero
*Monthly payroll processing
*Preparation of monthly management information (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow)
*Reporting performance against budgets
*Supporting the General Manager with financial insight and ad hoc analysis
*Managing PAYE and VAT submissions
*Liaising with banks, payment providers, and external accountants
*Maintaining fixed asset registers
*Managing aged debtors and supplier communications
*Supporting financial compliance across business activities
Skills & Experience*Proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
*Experience with month-end processes and management information
*Comfortable working across multiple revenue streams or in an SME environment
*Experience with Xero (or similar accounting software)
*Good Excel skill
Personal Attributes*Self-starter with the ability to manage workload and deadlines
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Practical and commercially aware
*Team player with a flexible, hands-on approach
Working Pattern & Pay*On-site role
*4-5 days per week (depending on workload)
*Initial contract: ~1 month, with potential to extend
*Available to start W/C 11th May
*£18 - £21 per hour + Holiday Pay
