Job Description:
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Procurement/ Buyer Specialist to join our team. This is a busy and varied position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities effectively.
You will work closely with internal sales teams and external customers, communicating daily via phone and face-to-face. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.
Key Responsibilities
*Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external customers, under the guidance of your line manager
*Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
*Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
*Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or concerns
*Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased goods and address any shortcomings
*Analyse industry and demand trends, supporting senior management in developing and implementing sourcing strategies
*Take ownership of projects and ensure deadlines are met
*Contribute positively as a team player with a proactive, "can-do" attitude
Skills & Experience Required
*Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role
*Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
*Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
*Solid understanding of purchasing strategies
*Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
*Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
*Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
*Own Transport
