Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s engineering team. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional strong mechanical maintenance experience in assembling, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in line with production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery according to technical drawings and specifications
*Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical equipment
*Perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
*Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals
*Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively
*Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and production staff
*Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
*Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work
Required Skills & Experience
*Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or in a similar role
*Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
*Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
*Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
*Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship (preferred)
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Qualifications
*NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
*Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
*Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
