The Business Development Manager Opportunity

Key responsibilities of a Business Development Manager
Winning New Business
*Proactively identify and secure new opportunities across the foodservice market
*Build and manage a strong, consistent sales pipeline
*Lead negotiations and close commercially viable, profitable deals
*Deliver tailored proposals that align customer needs with business goals
Growing & Retaining Accounts
*Build long-term, value-driven relationships with clients
*Identify opportunities to increase spend, improve margin, and expand accounts
*Deliver a high level of service to ensure retention and repeat business
*Manage renewals to protect and enhance profitability
Driving Commercial Performance
*Take ownership of gross profit across your customer base
*Implement pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with margin
*Analyse performance data to identify growth and improvement opportunities
*Deliver against key KPIs including revenue, margin, and pipeline conversion
Staying Ahead of the Market
*Monitor competitor activity and market trends
*Spot opportunities to grow market share in high-value segments
*Collaborate internally to deliver a joined-up commercial approach

*Proven success in winning and growing business within foodservice or a related sector
*Strong commercial acumen with a clear focus on profitability, not just volume
*Experience managing pricing, margins, and account performance
*Confident negotiator with the ability to influence at all levels
*Data-driven, with the ability to turn insight into action
*Highly motivated, self-sufficient, and results-focused
