Shared Services Manager (Finance South East Based)
UK & Europe| Hybrid / Multi-site
An established UK & European organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Transactional Manager to join its Shared Services leadership team. This is a senior, high-profile role with responsibility for treasury operations, balance sheet integrity, and leading a high-performing transactional finance function.
The Role
Reporting to the Director you will lead a specialist team (circa 7 team leaders via direct reports) and work closely with FP&A and other transactional finance leaders. You will play a key role in treasury management, cash reporting, balance sheet control, systems development, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across the division.
This role requires regular presence at office locations across the UK & Europe, with travel between sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead all treasury activity, including bank relationships, liquidity and FX management
*Oversee daily cash management and payment authorisations
*Own divisional and segment balance sheets, including all control accounts
*Ensure robust month-end close processes and interface integrity
*Lead accounting input into system upgrades and process changes
*Oversee VAT and PAYE returns
*Act as senior finance contact for internal and external audits
*Deputise for the Director of Shared Services when required
*Drive standardisation, compliance and continuous improvement across transactional finance
*Develop and lead a proactive, high-performing team delivering excellent service to the wider business
About You
You will be a qualified accountant with significant experience leading a treasury or transactional finance function in a complex organisation. You are confident operating at senior stakeholder level and comfortable managing change, systems, and people simultaneously.
Essential experience and skills include:
*Proven treasury management experience
*Strong balance sheet and control account expertise
*Experience in audit leadership (internal and external)
*Ability to influence at senior level and drive process improvement
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
*Strong attention to detail combined with a pragmatic, commercial mindset
Desirable:
*Experience within a larger business
*Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
*Experience of IFRS 15 & 16, consolidation and tax accounting
*Exposure to project management, systems implementations or agile methodologies
