Waste Collection Operative

Join our Waste Collection Team and contribute to delivering efficient waste and recycling services across Rotherham. This vital frontline role supports clean and safe communities by ensuring the proper collection of waste and recyclables from both household and commercial properties.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Work as part of a waste collection crew to achieve daily operational targets and maintain service standards.
*Collect all waste and recyclables, handling and manoeuvring waste containers of various sizes across different locations, terrains, and gradients.
*Follow all health and safety procedures and safe systems of work diligently.
*Provide a high level of customer service when interacting with members of the public, representing the Council professionally in the delivery of frontline services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience working within a waste collection environment; kerbside waste and recycling experience is desirable.
*Physically capable of walking between 8 and 10 miles per day, and pushing and pulling bins of varying sizes and weights in all weather conditions.
*A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
*Excellent customer care skills to professionally represent the Council.
