Job Title: Policy Manager (Energy & Sustainability)
OverviewOur client is a national, not-for-profit organisation delivering large-scale public engagement programmes across Great Britain, focused on driving awareness and adoption of energy technologies that support a more sustainable future.
They are seeking a Policy Manager to join their Corporate Affairs function. This role will focus on analysing complex and evolving policy environments, shaping evidence-based policy positions, and advising internal stakeholders on strategic responses. The successful candidate will play a key role in influencing policy discussions and supporting initiatives that contribute to the transition to a cleaner, more flexible energy system.
This is a hybrid role based in London, with a minimum of two days per week in the office.
Responsibilities*Support the delivery of the organisation’s policy programme in line with strategic objectives
*Monitor and analyse developments across the energy and regulatory landscape, identifying implications and opportunities
*Act as a subject matter expert on energy policy, particularly in relation to consumer engagement and emerging energy systems
*Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify barriers and opportunities within current policy frameworks
*Develop evidence-based policy proposals and recommendations
*Produce high-quality briefings, consultation responses, and thought leadership materials
*Communicate policy positions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
*Represent the organisation in cross-functional working groups and external stakeholder forums
*Provide timely updates and insights to senior leadership on policy developments
*Attend industry events and stakeholder meetings, with occasional travel across Great Britain
RequirementsEssential*Proven experience analysing complex policy environments and advising organisations on strategic responses
*Experience developing policy positions supported by robust evidence and analysis
*Strong ability to communicate complex policy concepts clearly and persuasively
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
*Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Desirable*Knowledge of the UK energy sector and regulatory landscape
*Understanding of consumer energy policy and emerging energy systems
*Awareness of diversity and inclusion considerations in public policy and stakeholder engagement
