Macildowie are working with a client based in Loughborough to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their finance team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with an office-based working arrangement.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, contributing to accurate reporting and insightful analysis to aid decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting Support
*Assist with accruals, prepayments and journal postings
*Maintain accurate financial ledgers and support month-end close
*Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Transactional Finance
*Manage purchase and sales ledger activities
*Respond to supplier and customer queries
*Maintain the fixed asset register
Budgeting & Analysis
*Assist in budget preparation and forecasting
*Support variance analysis with performance commentary
Compliance
*Assist with VAT returns and statutory reporting
Key Requirements
*Studying towards or part-qualified (AAT / ACCA / CIMA)
*Previous experience within a finance role
*Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
*Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
*Strong communication skills and proactive mindset
