Caretaker – Temporary Contract (6 Weeks)
Location: Medway
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Contract: Temporary – 6 weeks
Working Style: Site-based, with flexibility to work across Medway if required
We are currently recruiting for a Caretaker to support the day-to-day operation of a busy innovation and office environment in Medway. This is a hands-on, practical role, ideal for someone with good general maintenance skills who takes pride in keeping buildings and grounds well maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
*Carrying out general caretaker duties, including opening and closing the site and ensuring all areas are presented to a high standard
*Cleaning, litter picking, sweeping, and maintaining both internal and external communal areas, including car parks
*Setting up meeting rooms, moving furniture, and supporting porterage requirements
*Undertaking basic maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, replacing light bulbs, signage installation, and carpet tile work
*Supporting new office set-ups, including decorating and preparing spaces for tenants
*Monitoring contractors on site and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
*Carrying out weekly fire alarm testing
*Providing ad-hoc support to the site manager as required
What We’re Looking For:
*Practical handyman or caretaker experience
*Basic maintenance, painting, and decorating skills
*Good awareness of health and safety
*Reliable, well-organised, and able to work independently
*Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
Fire Marshal or First Aid experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
This role is fully site-based and may include occasional out-of-hours support.
