SEN Nurture Teacher (Special Secondary School)Location: Chaldon, Surrey (Near Caterham)
Salary: £34,398 - £48,913 (M1 - UPS1 Fringe)
Bonus:£5,000 Welcome Bonus (For Qualified Teachers)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
The OpportunityAre you a passionate educator who believes that every child deserves a bespoke learning environment? We are seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join our brand-new, specialist SEND secondary school during an exciting phase of growth.
Having opened its doors in September 2025, our school provides a sanctuary for young people (ages 11-16) who require specialised support with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism.
The RoleAs a Nurture Teacher, you won’t just deliver a curriculum; you will create a bridge to learning for students who have previously struggled in mainstream settings. You will work within a therapeutic, multi-disciplinary framework to ensure students feel safe, understood, and challenged.
Key Responsibilities:
*Tailored Delivery: Adapt the National Curriculum to meet the unique sensory and emotional profiles of your students.
*Collaborative Practice: Work alongside an expert team of therapists and support staff to provide a 360-degree approach to student development.
*Target Setting: Monitor and review personalised targets (EHCPs) that focus on both academic success and emotional resilience.
*Environment Management: Maintain a calm, non-confrontational classroom atmosphere, utilising positive behaviour support strategies.
Working Hours*Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:15am - 4:45pm
*Tuesday: 8:15am - 5:00pm (Staff development/meetings)
*Friday: 8:15am - 4:00pm
What We’re Looking For*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
*Proven experience working within a SEND or specialist setting (specifically with ASC/SEMH).
*A "non-confrontational" mindset and a deep understanding of how Autism impacts learning and behaviour.
*The flexibility to work at our main site in Chaldon and our satellite site in Caterham when required.
