Accounts Senior
St Ives, Cambridgeshire
£38,000 - £45,000
A well-established and growing accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join its General Practice team in St Ives. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client portfolio including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, delivering a broad mix of accounts, tax, and advisory services. You will play a key role in managing client relationships, supporting junior staff, and contributing to the continued development of the local office.
Role Responsibilities
*Prepare statutory accounts and tax computations for a varied client portfolio.
*Deliver corporate and personal tax compliance services.
*Prepare VAT returns and provide VAT advice to clients.
*Support with payroll services, including P11Ds and related queries.
*Work with cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
*Undertake audit assignments, including planning and fieldwork where required.
*Produce forecasts, projections, and management information.
*Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact.
*Identify opportunities to provide additional services to clients.
*Assist with company secretarial duties, including confirmation statements.
*Mentor, review, and support junior members of the team.
*Attend client meetings and occasionally visit client sites.
Personal Requirements
*AAT qualified and/or ACA/ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent experience).
*Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice.
*Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and tax compliance.
*Experience using cloud-based accounting software.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
*Confident in building and maintaining client relationships.
*Experience reviewing or mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
