Job Description:
ACA Audit Senior
Non-Profit & Charity Sector | London
Ambition is working with a highly regarded accountancy firm in London to recruit an ACA studier/semi-senior to join their established and award-winning Non-Profit Audit team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone more than half way through completion of their ICAEW ACA qualification who is keen to specialise in the charity and not-for-profit (NFP) sector, while continuing to receive strong training, support and progression toward qualification.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a large and growing Non-Profit team that works with a diverse portfolio of charities, education providers, trade associations and membership bodies. The team is widely recognised in the sector for the quality of its audit and advisory work and has consistently ranked highly for client service.
As an Audit Senior / Senior Associate, you’ll build on your existing audit experience, take on increasing responsibility, and gain meaningful exposure to complex and interesting NFP clients. You’ll be supported throughout your studies and professional development within a collaborative, inclusive and people-focused working environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
From day one, you’ll work directly with clients, gaining a deep understanding of their organisations, challenges and regulatory environment. The work is varied, with assignments ranging from short engagements to longer, more complex audits.
Key responsibilities include:
*Delivering audit fieldwork for a portfolio of non-profit clients, with appropriate support and supervision
*Assisting with audit planning, including reviewing prior-year files and preparing lead schedules
*Preparing financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards and legal requirements
*Drafting recommendations to improve clients’ financial systems, controls and processes
*Challenging management assumptions and reviewing supporting evidence and data
*Attending client meetings and contributing to audit close-out discussions
*Drafting corporation tax computations and supporting tax-related audit procedures
*Communicating effectively with internal teams, including technical and tax specialists
*Helping manage deadlines, budgets and client expectations
*Maintaining high-quality audit files in line with ISAs and internal policies
*Supporting and mentoring more junior trainees as part of wider engagement teams
About You
We’re keen to hear from candidates who are motivated, curious and eager to continue developing their career within the non-profit sector.
You will ideally have:
*Progress towards the ICAEW ACA qualification (Professional Level started or completed)
*A minimum of 1 year’s audit experience, with exposure to non-profit / charity clients
*A genuine interest in the non-profit sector
*Right to work in the UK as sponsorship cannot be provided
What’s On Offer
*London-based role with flexible and hybrid working
*Strong ACA study support and structured development
*Early responsibility and client exposure
*Clear progression toward qualification and beyond
*Supportive, inclusive and people-centred culture
*Opportunity to build a long-term career in a specialist NFP team
Diversity & Inclusion
Our client is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from individuals of all backgrounds. Adjustments can be made to support candidates throughout the recruitment process.
