Job Description:
My client is seeking an Operations Director to lead and optimise all operational functions within their IFA firm. This includes compliance support, client servicing, paraplanning, administration, and systems management to ensure the efficient delivery of financial advice services.
You will be a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who enjoys a hands-on approach, working alongside the Managing Director/CEO to drive the business to the next level and deliver outstanding client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
*Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business goals.
*Oversee day-to-day operations across administration, paraplanning and support teams.
*Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
*Manage operational budgets and resource allocation.
Team Management
*Lead, mentor and develop operations staff.
*Set KPIs and monitor team performance.
*Support recruitment, onboarding and training.
*Foster a high-performance and compliant culture.
Compliance & Risk Management
*Work closely with the Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to FCA regulations.
*Maintain robust internal controls and procedures.
*Oversee audit readiness and regulatory reporting.
*Ensure processes align with Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
Client Service & Experience
*Ensure high standards of client servicing across the business.
*Improve client journey and onboarding processes.
*Handle escalated client issues or complaints.
*Support advisers in delivering efficient and compliant advice.
Systems & Technology
*Oversee CRM systems (Intelliflo Office).
*Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives.
*Ensure data integrity standards.
*Evaluate and implement new operational tools.
Financial & Business Performance
*Monitor operational KPIs and MI reporting.
*Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
*Support strategic planning and growth initiatives (e.g., acquisitions, scaling).
*Collaborate with finance on forecasting and budgeting.
Key Skills & Experience
Essential
*Extensive experience in an IFA/wealth management environment.
*Strong understanding of UK financial services regulation.
*Proven leadership and team management experience.
*Experience with operational systems and workflows in financial advice firms.
*Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
*Chartered Financial Planning or relevant qualifications.
*Experience with platform providers (e.g., Aviva, Quilter).
*Project management or process improvement certifications (Lean, Six Sigma).

*Operational efficiency (e.g., case turnaround times).
*Client satisfaction and retention rates.
