About the Role
Darlington Liberal Democrats are seeking a motivated and organised Part-Time Political Campaign Organiser to support our local campaigning efforts in the run up to May 2027 local elections. This role is ideal for someone with experience and skills of organising volunteers as well as managing campaigning projects. The successful candidate will hold progressive liberal values whilst not necessarily being a Liberal Democrat member. A knowledge and preferably a talent for digital and print communication, social media and campaign logistics is a huge advantage.
Key Responsibilities
*Plot out the route to success in target areas: In collaboration with the local party and activists, develop a long-term plan and short-term targets. Allocate and review tasks
*Digital & Print Literature: Design, produce and edit high-quality digital and printed campaign materials using publishing software (Affinity Publisher or similar).
*Social Media Campaigns: Plan, create and manage engaging social media campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram to promote Liberal Democrat policies and local initiatives.
*Print Coordination: Organise the printing of campaign literature, liaise with printers, and ensure timely delivery.
*Distribution Logistics: Receive printed materials and coordinate their distribution to field deliverers, ensuring efficient and effective coverage.
*Team Collaboration: Work closely with volunteers, candidates and party members to support campaign events, canvassing, and community engagement.
About You
*Values Alignment: Strong commitment to progressive liberal values whilst not necessarily being a Liberal Democrat member.
*Skills & Experience:
*Developing and adjusting project plans. Proven experience running social media campaigns, with a creative approach to content creation.
*Proficiency in publishing software (Affinity Publisher or equivalent).
*Highly organised with excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
*Availability: Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, particularly during campaign periods.
