The CompanyAn established and highly respected engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking a Purchase Ledger Controller to join its finance team on an interim basis. Operating within a high-performance, precision-led environment, the business supports a global client base and is known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
The OpportunityThis is an urgent requirement for a hands-on Purchase Ledger professional who can quickly take ownership of the function and add value from day one. The role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative finance team, with strong potential for the position to become permanent, the role is standalone within AP.
Key Responsibilities*Processing high-value supplier invoices, including matching to purchase orders and delivery notes
*Maintaining the purchase ledger and ensuring accuracy of the control account
*Preparing and processing supplier payment runs, including foreign currency payments
*Managing supplier accounts, resolving queries, and building effective relationships
*Setting up and maintaining new supplier records
*Monitoring and reconciling petty cash, including maintaining accurate records
*Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
*Liaising with internal stakeholders across finance and purchasing to ensure smooth operations
About You*Proven experience in a Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment
*Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor advantageous but not essential)
*Strong attention to detail, particularly when working with high-value transactions
*A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage workload independently
*Confident communicator with the ability to liaise at all levels
*Highly organised, numerate, and conscientious
