The Company
Financial Accountant - Growing Organisation
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to take ownership of external and internal reporting, governance, and technical accounting across a complex, multi entity business.
This is a senior finance role with responsibility for group reporting, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and technical accounting standards, while acting as a subject matter expert to the wider finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control, regulatory compliance, and high quality reporting to senior stakeholders.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual group reporting submissions, including KPI reporting.• Deliver group reporting under IFRS and ensure consistency with accounting policies.
*Prepare completion accounts for acquired businesses.
*Act as the technical accounting subject expert, supporting the wider finance team on standards and policy interpretation.
*Own statutory reporting requirements, including year end accounts and audit support.
*Prepare quarterly and annual corporation tax calculations and submissions.
*Maintain a robust tax risk register.
*Manage R&D tax credit claims and capital allowance reviews.
*Prepare indirect tax returns, including VAT and other sector specific duties.
*Support the annual budgeting process, with particular focus on group reporting requirements.
*Ensure strong governance, risk management, and control frameworks are in place.
*Produce group level KPI and performance reports.
*Build effective working relationships with senior leaders and cross functional teams.
*Support, guide, and mentor finance colleagues as required.
*Contribute to finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
*Support key finance projects across the business where needed.
Requirements
*Qualified accountant
*Strong experience in statutory reporting, group reporting, and technical accounting.
*Solid knowledge of UK tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting.
*Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
*Detail driven, commercially aware, and comfortable managing complexity.
*Proactive mindset with a focus on governance, risk, and continuous improvement.
