Quality Supervisor
Location: Cornwall
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum
Overview
An established food manufacturing operation is seeking a Quality Supervisor to support site quality standards and food safety performance. Reporting into the Quality Assurance Manager, this role is responsible for leading quality activities on site and supervising a small team to ensure all quality checks and audits are completed accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for someone looking to progress their career within quality management in a fast-paced FMCG or food production environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead, support, and coordinate the day-to-day activities of Quality Controllers and Auditors
*Ensure scheduled quality checks, inspections, and audits are completed in line with company and regulatory standards
*Investigate food safety, quality, or compliance issues, completing root cause analysis and corrective actions
*Verify that finished products consistently meet specification, customer requirements, and legal standards
*Maintain accurate quality documentation and communicate findings clearly to internal stakeholders
*Support production teams with quality-related queries and continuous improvement initiatives
*Promote a strong food safety and quality culture across the site
Skills & Experience
*A qualification in food science, food safety, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
*Experience working within food manufacturing, ideally under recognised standards such as BRC or similar
*Strong working knowledge of food safety and UK food law
*Desirable certifications include Food Safety Level 3, HACCP Level 3, or Internal Auditor qualification
*Confident decision-maker with strong attention to detail
*Organised, methodical, and capable of managing priorities in a busy environment

*Strong communication and leadership skills
*Comfortable challenging processes where needed to protect product quality and safety
*Flexible and adaptable to changing operational demands
