Shift and schedule:
Shift pattern:
160 hours per month (average 40 hours per week)
Rota basis: 2 days on + sleep-in, followed by 4 days off

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who can lead by example, support a staff team, and provide high-quality care. This role is ideal for someone ready to take the next step in their career and make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

*Leading shifts and supporting team members to deliver high-quality care
*Supporting the Home Manager and deputising in their absence
*Supervising staff and supporting performance and development
*Ensuring safeguarding and child protection standards are upheld at all times
*Supporting children with daily routines, activities, and emotional wellbeing
*Acting as a positive role model for both young people and staff
*Contributing to care planning and attending reviews/meetings
*Supporting behaviour using appropriate strategies and therapeutic approaches
*Liaising with external professionals such as social workers, schools, and therapists
*Supporting the induction and development of new staff
*Ensuring health & safety procedures and risk assessments are followed
Household responsibilities include:

*Supporting with the day-to-day running of the home
*Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
*Promoting a healthy lifestyle for children and young people
*Ensuring the home environment is safe, structured, and welcoming
Successful Candidate:

*Previous experience working in children’s residential care (essential)
*Experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred)
*Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
*Ability to lead shifts and support a team effectively
*Calm, resilient, and confident approach
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Flexible to work shifts, including sleep-ins and weekends
*Commitment to continuous professional development
