Job Description:
An exciting new PART TIME permanent position (21 hours per week) is available for a Youth Opportunities Officer for this well established, independent charity based in Redhill. Excellent salary, future prospects and great benefits inc PRO RATA 6.6 weeks hols, (increases with service), free gym and discounted childcare.

We are recruiting for a Youth Opportunities Officer to join our Housing team. You will be responsible for co-ordinating a resident engagement programme designed for inactive young people, leading them on a bespoke journey towards employment, volunteering education, training. The role will help the team deliver a safe, supportive, and person-centred service for young people and vulnerable adults accessing East Surrey’s housing.
This role requires someone with a minimum of NVQ Level 2 standard qualification or equivalent in Housing, Social Work, or Youth Work (or is willing to complete such a qualification alongside their job role within the next twelve months.).
Key Responsibilities:
*To promote, co-ordinate and deliver the resident journey programme to residents of our East Surrey Housing Services.
*Implement a timetabled support programme consisting of workshops and group activities for residents with a focus on those who are economically inactive.
*To ensure long term goals are met so inactive residents become active and independent as part of their pathway plan.
*To set up regular activities that will enhance residents’ life skills and confidence in areas such as physical activity and health, emotional wellbeing, team building skills and healthy living.
*To develop effective systems of support for young person and continually look at their development.
*Submit regular reports to relevant committees to ensure progress is evidenced and transparent.
*Maintain accurate records, timetables, interventions and outcomes.
Experience and Qualifications
*Level NVQ 2 Standard qualification or equivalent in housing, Social work or Youth work (or willing to complete this alongside the job)
*Strong administrative and organisational skills
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*High diligence and accuracy, managing confidential and sensitive information
*Proven experience in supporting individuals in supported housing
Key Skills and Attributes
*To hold a full drivers licence valid for business use
*Effective one to one and group skills in collaborating with residents
*Plan and prioritise tasks, use on initiative and meet deadlines
*Develop positive and respectful working relationships with residents, colleagues and stakeholders, and manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
