Role details
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a market leading organisation in North Warwickshire, where you will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process and play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and performance. You will oversee the timely preparation of management accounts, ensuring all group postings, including payroll, depreciation, intercompany transactions, expenses, and cash are completed in line with month-end deadlines. You’ll manage accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations across multiple business areas, reviewing final accounts before submission to senior finance leadership. Alongside this, you will support audits, ensure robust balance sheet reconciliations, and identify opportunities to improve processes and controls.
Responsibilities of the Finance Manager
*Supervise the preparation of monthly management accounts by ensuring all group postings, including payroll, depreciation, intercompany transactions, expenses, cash postings, and closing ledgers, are completed accurately and on schedule in line with month-end deadlines.
*Oversee the production of management accounts for various operational business sections by managing accruals/prepayments, intercompany reconciliations, sales reconciliations, and ensuring completion within required timelines.
*Review final management accounts for relevant business areas to confirm completeness and accuracy before submission to senior finance leadership.
*Collaborate closely with operational teams to review financial reports and present findings to the Financial Controller for further analysis or revision as needed.
*Provide direct line management to a small team by supporting their objectives, conducting regular performance reviews, annual appraisals, and setting clear goals to drive high standards across the team.
*Work hand-in-hand with the Financial Controller to identify opportunities for continuous process improvements, leveraging technology where possible, to enhance efficiency across finance functions.
*Coordinate with the wider Finance team to provide accurate information for interim and group audits by preparing initial data sets and supporting audit sampling requirements.
*Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are conducted thoroughly; use results to identify business risks and highlight potential process improvements for greater financial control.
