Job Description:
An independent and well-respected Lloyd’s Broker, are now seeking an Account Manager within their Delegated Authorities Division.
This is NOT your average Technical Binder Slip Production / BDX / Processing type role. There is none of this involved! This exciting posistion includes taking ownership of a portfolio of Delegated Authority Contracts, acting as the key link between Producing Brokers, Clients, Underwriters and the Technical Ops teams.
Role Responsibilities
*Support Producing Brokers on complex broking matters, including renewal strategy, capacity discussions, pricing dynamics and syndicate relationship management.
*Participate in (and sometimes lead) client and underwriter meetings, representing the delegated authority function with authority and credibility.
*Lead the renewal process for delegated authority contracts within the portfolio, including early-stage planning, stakeholder coordination and delivery.
*Drive strategic renewal improvements such as coverage refinement, data enhancement, pricing quality, bordereaux accuracy and capacity retention.
*Serve as the second line of defence and the senior liaison between Producing Brokers and the Technical Operations.
*Ensure all delegated authority activities meet Lloyd’s, regulatory and internal governance standards.
*Own the resolution of complex exceptions, referrals and special acceptances
*Conduct monthly or quarterly portfolio performance reviews with brokers, underwriters and clients to highlight trends, risks, and improvement actions.
*Act as a senior point of contact for client and Coverholder issues — ensuring timely, high-quality resolution of operational and technical matters.
*Support the Producing Broker in building and maintaining strong relationships with Coverholders, TPAs and carriers.
*Support new business opportunities by providing delegated authority expertise
About You
*3 years of Lloyd’s of London Insurance experience with a solid understanding of Lloyd’s and Delegated Authority frameworks
*Strong knowledge of Binders
*Solid commercial awareness with the ability to support brokers on placement structure, renewal strategy, pricing considerations and capacity management.
*Skilled in navigating underwriter discussions and client interactions with confidence, authority and technical credibility.
*Excellent relationship-building skills with brokers, underwriters, Coverholders, TPAs and internal stakeholders.
*Confident communicator, able to present technical information in a clear, structured, and commercially relevant way.
*Comfortable acting as the senior escalation point for complex referrals, exceptions and performance issues.
*Competent in reviewing and interpreting bordereaux, performance MI, loss runs, aggregate reports and underwriting KPIs.
