Job Description:
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary to provide high-quality support to our fee earners and wider team. This is a varied role combining legal secretarial duties with office and administrative support, helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy Family Law practice.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive and professional, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities*Audio and copy typing of legal correspondence and documents
*Preparation of court documents, letters and professionally presented legal materials
*Diary management, including court dates, appointments and deadlines
*Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence
*File opening, closing, archiving and maintenance of electronic and paper files
*Client onboarding, ID checks and case management updates
*Acting as a first point of contact for clients by phone and email
*General office support, including PA-style duties, meeting preparation and team cover
The Person
Essential Skills & Experience*Previous experience as a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant or Legal Administrator, within Family Law
*Strong and accurate audio typing skills
*Excellent written and verbal English with high attention to detail
*Confident user of Microsoft Word and Outlook
*Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
*Professional, friendly and confidential approach
Desirable*Experience with audio transcription systems
*PA-style support experience for fee earners
