Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) - Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities
September Start | Cambridgeshire
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Cambridgeshire to recruit qualified and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) for full-time and part-time positions starting in September.
We are supporting schools with long-term and permanent opportunities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. These roles are ideal for experienced HLTAs looking to secure a position ahead of the new academic year, whether you are seeking consistency, progression, or a new school environment.
A full UK driving licence is desirable due to the range of school locations, but not essential.
The Role
As an HLTA working through Teaching Personnel, you will:
*Deliver pre-planned lessons and lead whole-class teaching when required
*Support the class teacher with planning and classroom delivery
*Lead small group interventions and targeted support sessions
*Provide high-quality 1:1 support where needed
*Support pupils with a range of abilities, including those with additional needs
*Promote positive behaviour and maintain a structured learning environment
*Contribute to the overall teaching and learning within the classroom
A Typical Day May Include
*Covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher
*Delivering planned lessons across a range of subjects
*Supporting pupils’ learning across the curriculum
*Leading intervention groups to boost attainment
*Assisting with planning and preparation of resources
*Managing classroom behaviour effectively
*Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress
*Supporting wider school activities where required
Who We’re Looking For
*Essential: HLTA qualification or equivalent recognised qualification
*Essential: recent and relevant UK-based experience in a primary school setting
*Experience covering classes and delivering lessons
*Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
*A confident, proactive, and adaptable approach
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
