Job Description:
Reed Education are working with a wonderful independent school in the Blackpool area. They are currently seeking a resilient, experienced and reliable teacher to join their team.
The school specialises in working with high needs pupils aged between 11 and 16. Their small classes, full-time flexible timetables, and 1:1 support sessions all work towards building pupils’ confidence and skills and giving them the opportunity to flourish.
Many of the pupils at this school have experienced social, emotional, or personal challenges and benefit from a nurturing, trauma-informed approach to learning. The successful candidate will need to be confident supporting pupils with SEMH needs and those who have experienced trauma/adverse childhood experiences.
Job Details:
*Location: Blackpool, FY1
*Start Date: 11th May, 2026
*Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:15pm
*Contract: Long-term/temp-to-perm
Requirements:
*PGCE with QTS (both Primary and Secondary trained teachers will be considered)
*Experience supporting children with SEMH needs and/or trauma
*Calm, resilient and patient attitude
*Excellent behaviour management skills
*Genuine passion for supporting children from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds
*Full-time availability from the 11th of May 2026 onwards
*Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List (or willingness to obtain one ASAP)
*Willingness to complete Reed’s compliance process promptly (if this has not already been completed)
