Job Description:
Trainee IFA – Leeds (Hybrid)Salary: £32,000–£38,000 Hybrid Working: 2 days per week in the Leeds office Firm Type: Chartered, supportive, development-focused financial planning firm
A rare opportunity to step into a fully supported advice roleThis is an exceptional opportunity for someone who has already built a strong foundation in paraplanning or IFA administration and is now ready to take the next step into a client-facing Financial Adviser role.
You’ll join a respected, chartered firm in Leeds with a reputation for developing advisers the right way through structured training, hands-on mentoring, and a clear, achievable pathway to full Competent Adviser Status (CAS).
If you’re ambitious, people-focused and ready to build a long-term career in advice, this is the kind of role that doesn’t come up often.
What you’ll be doingYou’ll work closely with experienced advisers and paraplanners as you transition into a regulated advice role. Your responsibilities will grow as your confidence and technical knowledge develop:
*Supporting advisers in client meetings and gradually taking the lead as you progress
*Preparing review packs, research and suitability report inputs
*Learning how to conduct full financial reviews across pensions, investments and protection
*Completing fact-finds, risk assessments and recommendation modelling
*Working with paraplanners to understand the advice process end-to-end
*Managing client relationships and handling follow-up actions
*Building your own small client bank over time, supported by warm leads
*Ensuring all advice is compliant and well-documented
You’ll never be thrown in at the deep end — the firm has a proven development structure that takes you from trainee to confident, competent adviser.
Training, mentoring & CAS pathwayThis firm offers one of the strongest adviser development programmes in the region. You’ll receive:
*Full support to achieve CAS, including shadowing, supervised advice and structured sign-off
*A dedicated mentor (usually a Senior or Chartered Adviser)
*Full funding for RO exams, study materials and paid study leave
*Weekly development sessions covering technical knowledge, soft skills and compliance
*Opportunities to attend client meetings from day one
*A gradual, supported transition into managing your own clients
*Long-term progression into Adviser, Senior Adviser or Chartered Adviser roles
If your goal is to become a respected, high-quality financial adviser, this firm will give you the platform.
What they’re looking for*Experience in paraplanning or senior IFA administration
*Strong understanding of pensions, investments and the advice process
*Excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in helping clients
*Someone proactive, organised and eager to learn
*A long-term mindset — this is a career move, not a stop-gap
*Ideally working towards the Level 4 Diploma (or willing to start immediately)
This role suits someone who wants to move into advice properly, with structure and support.
What you’ll get in return*£32,000–£38,000 depending on experience and exams
*Hybrid working (2 office / 3 home)
*25 days holiday + bank holidays
*Full exam funding and study support

*Access to warm leads and existing clients as you progress
*A friendly, collaborative team with strong technical support
