EYFS Teaching Assistant | Preston | September Start
Are you a caring and enthusiastic Early Years practitioner looking for a new opportunity this September? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Preston.
This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026, supporting children at the very beginning of their educational journey.
The RoleAs an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils within Nursery and/or Reception, helping to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
*Location: Preston, Lancashire
*Start Date: September 2026
*Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant
*Contract: Full-time, long-term
*Pay: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly
Key Responsibilities*Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based EYFS learning.
*Working with small groups and individual pupils to support early development.
*Encouraging communication, social interaction, and early literacy/numeracy skills.
*Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment.
*Supporting pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development.
*Observing and feeding back on pupil progress where required.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must:
*Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent experience).
*Have experience working within EYFS settings (school or nursery).
*Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young children.
*Have good communication and teamwork skills.
*Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
*Provide professional references and have the legal right to work in the UK.
