Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time – Potentially available on a Part timer basis for the right candidate

Salary: £32-35,000 – dependent on experience
The Opportunity
A growing organisation within a fast-paced operational environment is seeking a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Lead to take ownership of its safety, compliance, and wellbeing agenda.
This is a key role responsible for driving a proactive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and embedding wellbeing initiatives across the business. The position offers strong visibility across leadership and the opportunity to influence both operational standards and employee experience.
The Role
Reporting into the People function, with close alignment to Operations, you will lead all aspects of Health & Safety while also supporting training and wellbeing initiatives.
This is a hands-on role, requiring a visible on-site presence, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to balance compliance with cultural development.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
· Lead and manage all health and safety activities across the site
· Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice
· Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, driving continuous improvement
· Investigate incidents and accidents, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions
· Maintain and update policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
· Act as the key point of contact for external bodies, audits, and inspections
· Deliver guidance and support to managers and teams on safe working practices
Training
· Coordinate and deliver mandatory health and safety training
· Ensure all statutory training is completed and accurately recorded
· Support onboarding and induction from a safety perspective
· Contribute to improving training delivery methods, including digital solutions
Wellbeing & Engagement
· Support the development and delivery of wellbeing initiatives
· Promote a positive, safe, and open workplace culture
· Identify and mitigate risks relating to stress, fatigue, and employee wellbeing
· Engage employees through campaigns, training, and internal events
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
· Monitor and report on health, safety, and wellbeing metrics
· Provide insights and recommendations to leadership
· Ensure audit readiness and maintain accurate records
· Drive improvements in compliance, training efficiency, and engagement
About You
· NEBOSH General Certificate (or currently working towards)
· Proven experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within food manufacturing or a similar operational environment
· Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice
· Experience delivering training and engaging stakeholders at all levels
· Confident communicator with strong influencing skills
· Proactive, solutions-focused, and highly organised
· Passionate about wellbeing and creating a safe, positive workplace culture
