Job Description:
Financial Controller| West Midlands| Hybrid
We are currently working with a large, specialised service provider in the West Midlands who are looking for a high-calibre Financial Controller to take ownership of financial reporting, strengthen governance, and drive meaningful change across Finance. Sitting at the heart of the organisation, you’ll play a key role in ensuring accuracy, insight, and control.
Working closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership, you’ll act as a trusted expert and strategic partner, bringing clarity to complex financial matters and raising the bar across processes, systems, and performance.
Financial Controller Key Responsibilities:
*Be the go to expert on technical accounting, guiding the business through new standards and complex issues
*Drive a best in class month-end close, delivering accurate, insightful reporting at pace
*Take full ownership of year end reporting, including the Annual Report & Accounts and Performance Report
*Transform capitalisation processes, improving rigour, transparency, and outcomes
*Build and inspire a high-performing team, creating a culture of accountability and collaboration
*Champion balance sheet integrity, ensuring robust controls and proactive risk management
*Lead all audit activity, building strong relationships and ensuring smooth, timely delivery
*Strengthen financial governance, enhancing controls, policies, and frameworks across the business
What you’ll bring
*A recognised accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
*A proven track record in financial control, statutory reporting, and audit leadership
*Deep technical expertise combined with commercial awareness
*The confidence and credibility to challenge, influence, and drive change
*Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop teams and build trusted relationships
