Salary: £25,887 - £27,385 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Roving role - Sites across the North East & Cumbria

About the role
As a Maintenance Officer, you’ll be at the heart of this organisation’s operations, playing a key role in maintaining their buildings and sites across the North East and Cumbria. You’ll be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, conducting repairs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Job Purpose
Are you a practical, hands-on professional who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, compliant and well maintained? Our client is looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Officer to help ensure their sites remain welcoming, functional and safe for everyone who uses them. This varied role combines day-to-day reactive repairs with planned maintenance, safety checks and contractor coordination, offering the opportunity to make a visible, positive impact through your skills every single day.
Key Responsibilities
*Regular maintenance and upkeep jobs
*Small scale emergency repairs
*Legal compliance checks
*Facilitating specialist contractor works
*Administration, using basic IT digital recording systems, Outlook Emails
Who They Are Looking For
*Relevant trade qualifications or experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field
*Strong knowledge of health and safety practices
*Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
*Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
*A proactive approach to site maintenance and compliance
*Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
