About the Business
A fantastic opportunity to be a Management Accountant for a fast-growing logistics business based in Walsall who have potential for growth opportunity and really look after their employees. This role gives you a fantastic chance to progress your career in a collaborative environment, with a supportive manager to learn from while working hybrid.
Main Duties:
As a Management Accountant your main duties include:
*Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, banking, and general ledger management.
*Ensure all financial transactions, journals, and reconciliations are processed accurately and on time.
*Maintain and strengthen financial controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, HMRC regulations, and internal policies.
*Review and reconcile control accounts, resolving discrepancies efficiently.
*Prepare monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines for review by the Head of Finance.
*Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and provide clear explanations.
*Ensure all statutory obligations are met, including VAT returns, audit preparation, and support for annual accounts.
*Improve financial systems, processes, and reporting, including optimisation of Brightpearl ERP.
*Drive automation and continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce manual workload.
*Collaborate across departments while demonstrating strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly.
Location / Office / Culture
Based in their Walsall office, you’ll be joining to a collaborative workspace with a flexible working arrangement. Add to a team of circa. 10 people that will put real time into you and your development. Ideal for an all-rounder who can work independently and cooperatively.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
*ACCA/CIMA qualified or QBE
*Be competent with financial systems
*Have worked a minimum of 2 years in a Management Accountant role
*Have good technical accounting knowledge alongside commercial acumen and understanding of ledger responsibilities/ transactional finance.
