Job Description:
Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading South Yorkshire based client to recruit for a Purchasing Manager.


The role:
You will be responsible for managing both the current and future needs the Purchasing department.


You will be charged with:
*Managing, supporting, and coaching of the team
*Negotiation of all current and new purchasing contracts
*Develop and maintain a supply base globally
*Select new suppliers based on factors including cost and suitability/competence to supply
*Re-tender of all current and new commodities
*Align all material management processes


Skills and Experience
*Previous Purchasing experience at a senior level to include a solid understanding of Steel, Fabrications and Machined commodities
*Previous experience in managing a team
*Ability to travel globally should the need arise
*An understanding of lean manufacturing
