Job Description:
Autism Support Assistant - Primary School
We are looking for compassionate, dedicated individuals to join our team as Autism Support Assistants, working within a primary school setting to support children with autism and additional learning needs.
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help children with autism access learning, develop confidence, and thrive in the school environment. Your role will involve:
*Providing one-to-one or small-group support
*Helping children understand routines, transitions, and classroom expectations
*Using strategies that support communication, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
*Encouraging independence and positive social interactions
*Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

*A strong understanding of autism and how it can affect learning and behaviour
*Experience supporting children with additional needs (school-based experience preferred but not essential)
