Account Manager
Rugby, Hybrid
Up to £40,000 plus bonus
The Company
Employal is working with a growing business in the logistics and packaging sector that is focused on maximising the value of its existing customer base.
This is a business that is investing in its commercial function and wants to move away from reactive account handling to a more structured, proactive, and growth focused approach.
They are looking for someone who can bring energy, ownership, and commercial thinking into how customer accounts are managed and developed.
The Role
This is a commercially focused account management position where you will take ownership of a portfolio of approximately 80 customers.
You will be responsible for driving retention, increasing customer spend, and re engaging accounts that have become inactive. This is not a passive role. You will be expected to take a proactive approach and treat your portfolio as your own business.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing and developing a portfolio of customer accounts
*Building strong relationships to improve retention and long term value
*Creating account plans with clear annual spend targets
*Driving account growth through increased spend and engagement
*Re engaging lapsed customers and bringing them back into active trading
*Monitoring account performance and taking action where needed
*Identifying opportunities to recover lost revenue and increase account value
*Working closely with internal teams to deliver strong customer outcomes
*Maintaining accurate records and activity through customer relationship management systems
The Candidate
We are looking for someone who combines strong relationship building skills with a commercial mindset.
You will:
*Have experience in account management, internal sales, customer success, or a similar role
*Be confident managing and growing a portfolio of customers
*Take a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and driving results
*Be organised and able to manage multiple accounts effectively
*Be comfortable working towards targets and performance goals
*Enjoy both the service and commercial aspects of customer management
*Must drive with access to own vehicle due to remote location
*Experience within logistics, packaging, supply chain, or a similar sector would be beneficial but is not essential.
