SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist School
Location: South London
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Reed Education is recruiting a dedicated and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a specialist education setting.
This role is ideal for someone who is calm, patient, and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and associated learning difficulties. The school provides a highly supportive, structured, and child-centred environment where relationship-based support is key.
The Role:
*Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
*Supporting learning, emotional regulation, and engagement
*Assisting with daily routines and transitions
*Helping to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
*Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams
*Upholding safeguarding and behaviour support strategies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth settings)
*A nurturing, patient, and consistent approach
*Strong communication and teamwork skills
*Confidence supporting behaviour and emotional needs
*A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
