An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Credit Control Supervisor to join a well-regarded Higher Education organisation based in London. This role is vital in providing high-quality operational and supervisory support to the Credit Control function, ensuring effective debt recovery, accurate account management, and excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
*Oversee and manage the credit control process to ensure timely collection of outstanding debt
*Supervise and support credit control staff, monitoring workloads and performance
*Proactively chase overdue balances via phone, email, and written correspondence
*Review aged debt reports and implement appropriate recovery actions
*Investigate and resolve complex payment queries and disputes in a timely manner
*Ensure accurate allocation of payments and reconciliations of customer accounts
*Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal procedures and audit requirements
*Support escalated cases, including recommending further recovery action where necessary
*Manage shared finance inboxes, ensuring queries are responded to promptly and professionally
*Support month-end reporting, controls, and reconciliation processes
*Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the Credit Control team
Ideal Candidate Profile:
*Proven experience in a credit control role, with experience supervising or supporting others
*Strong knowledge of debt recovery processes and financial controls
*Confident communication and negotiation skills
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability
*Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
*Customer-focused approach with a professional and resilient manner
*Strong IT skills, including Excel and experience with financial systems
*Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a busy environment
