Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Virtual Ward (Remote Working)
Ongoing Agency Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to support a growing Virtual Ward service, working remotely and providing senior clinical oversight alongside direct patient care.
About the Role
As a senior clinician within the Virtual Ward, you will manage patients with complex care needs and long-term conditions, supporting care delivery in the community and helping to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.
Alongside managing your own caseload, you will provide clinical leadership and senior support to Band 6 clinicians and HCAs, offering guidance, second opinions and escalation support to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing inbound and outbound patient calls
*Advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning
*Supporting medicines management and escalation decisions
*Providing senior clinical advice to Band 6 Nurses/Paramedics and HCAs
*Supporting patient flow and risk management within the Virtual Ward model
*Working closely with MDT colleagues across community and acute services
Working Pattern
*Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 20:00
*Out-of-hours working will increase as the service continues to grow
*Minimum commitment: 15 hours per week
*Ongoing agency work with regular, consistent shifts available
Pay Rates
*£34 – £47 per hour, depending on experience and responsibilities
Requirements
*Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner with NMC registration
*Relevant Master’s level ANP qualification (or equivalent)
*Significant experience managing patients with complex needs and long-term conditions
*Strong leadership and autonomous clinical decision-making skills
*Experience supporting and supervising junior clinicians
*Confident working independently in a remote, digitally enabled environment
