Job Description:
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Male Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school in the L36 area. This role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them to access the curriculum and develop independence in a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
*Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
*Support behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
*Promote a positive, nurturing learning environment
*Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
*Support pupils with personal care where required
Requirements:
*Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant (essential)
*Experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, and/or SEMH needs
*Strong behaviour management skills
*A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
*Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) desirable
*Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
