Job Description:

Atkinson Moss Leadership recruitment have been engaged to support our client seeking a high-calibre Procurement Manager to lead a specialist team.
This is a strategic role designed for a professional who excels in people leadership and the management of high-volume, complex portfolios. While the technical category expertise can be fully taught, the client is looking for a Procurement Manager who can hit the ground running in terms of team development, commercial negotiation, and strategic planning.
The Opportunity
In this role, you won’t be siloed into a rigid category. Instead, you will act as a core commercial architect. The client is specifically looking for a Procurement Manager who understands the mechanics of sourcing within volatile or regulated markets and can translate complex data into clear value for members.
Key Responsibilities
*Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a dedicated team of five, fostering a coaching culture and driving operational performance.
*Strategic Sourcing: Lead the end-to-end member journey, from initial procurement strategy through to supply management and query resolution.
*Relationship Management: Act as the primary lead for high-level supplier partnerships, securing best-value pricing and ensuring service reliability.
*Commercial Growth: Identify and pursue new opportunities to grow portfolio volume and member commitment.
*Market Insight: As the Procurement Manager, you will monitor market trends and regulatory changes to ensure the business stays ahead of the curve.
*Process Innovation: Streamline internal procedures and identify opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency.
The Ideal Candidate
The client is open-minded regarding your industry background—long as you possess the following:
*Proven Leadership: A track record of managing and developing teams.
*Commercial Mastery: Expert negotiation skills and experience managing significant budgets.
*Analytical Power: The ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly to stakeholders.
*Adaptability: The capacity to learn a new technical domain rapidly (full training provided).
Why Apply?
This is a fantastic chance for an ambitious Procurement Manager to step into a role with genuine autonomy and influence. My client offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment where you can truly shape the procurement function without being restricted by industry-specific prerequisites.
