Job Description:
Strategic Communications Lead - Government & Public AffairsContract: 6 Months (Initial)Rate: £600 (A day)Location: NW London (Hybrid)Ir35: Inside (Must use an umbrella company)
This role will shape narrative, influence decision-makers and manage high-profile, politically sensitive communications across government, regulators and public sector stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities*Lead government and public affairs communications strategy aligned to policy and reform priorities
*Act as senior advisor to executive leaders on political and reputational risk
*Develop briefings, position papers, stakeholder messaging and consultation materials
*Engage with central government, regulators and public sector partners
*Manage communications around reform, funding, legislation and public accountability
*Integrate communications activity with programme delivery and governance
Essential Experience*Senior experience in government, public sector or policy communications
*Strong background in public affairs, external affairs or lobbying-focused comms
*Experience handling politically sensitive or high-risk communications
*Excellent senior-level briefing and stakeholder engagement skills
HE experience desirable but not essential
