Job Description:
We are seeking a practical, self-motivated Housing Property Maintenance Officer to support the upkeep, safety, and compliance of our Council’s temporary accommodation properties, with occasional work across the wider Council property portfolio.

Responsibilities of a Housing Property Maintenance Officer include:
*Carry out general maintenance tasks across properties, including basic carpentry, plumbing, and repairs.
*Deliver both planned and reactive maintenance work within set timeframes.
*Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with Health & Safety regulations.
*Conduct compliance checks, including water hygiene monitoring and portable appliance testing (PAT).
*Maintain properties and surrounding areas, including cleanliness, grounds upkeep, and safety.
*Use initiative to identify issues and report or escalate where necessary.
*Prioritise workload effectively, responding to urgent maintenance needs.
*Communicate professionally with tenants, residents, colleagues, and contractors.
Skills of a Housing Property Maintenance Officer:
*A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE at Grade C/4 or above, must include Maths and English.
*Ability to build customer relationships.
*Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers and environments.
*Maintain accurate and up to date records.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
