Traffic Operations Manager | N.Ireland | Logistics | £60k
Overview
Responsible for overseeing day-to-day transport operations, ensuring efficient planning, high service standards, and effective team performance across a busy logistics desk. Acts as the key escalation point for operational issues and drives continuous improvement across processes and people.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage daily desk operations, ensuring adequate staffing and smooth workflow
*Lead, train, and develop planners and coordinators, including performance reviews and onboarding
*Act as first point of escalation for driver and customer issues, resolving promptly or escalating where required
*Monitor service delivery, ensuring all contracts meet performance and quality standards
*Oversee compliance with transport procedures, documentation, and legal requirements
*Coordinate with fleet teams to ensure timely servicing, maintenance, and vehicle availability
*Track driver performance, attendance, and holidays
*Produce operational reports and highlight risks or improvement opportunities
*Drive a "fix it now" approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
*Support wider operations and contribute to business improvement initiatives
Requirements
*Experience in a transport planning or traffic management role within logistics
*Strong knowledge of UK & Ireland geography and transport regulations
*Confident communicator across all levels
*High level of IT literacy (digital-first operation)
*Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to tight deadlines
*Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset
*Flexible approach to working hours and operational demands
*CPC is desirable

*£50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)
