Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer
Location: Thetford
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 (DOE) + benefits
About the Role
A leading UK company in the design, manufacture, installation, and servicing of pumping equipment is seeking a dynamic and motivated Electrical Commissioning & Maintenance Engineer to join its external site teams.
This is a varied and hands-on role, working alongside mechanical engineers to install, commission, and service pumping equipment across multiple sites. The position offers national exposure while remaining regionally focused.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out electrical work to support mechanical installations
*Assist with after-sales service and breakdown support when required
*Travel and stay away from home when necessary (minimised where possible)
*Maintain and improve company procedures
*Complete site reports and obtain customer sign-off after each visit
*Submit reports and timesheets promptly
*Represent the business professionally, promoting products and services
*Ensure tools and materials are prepared before attending site
*Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers at all levels
*Manage petty cash and company credit card responsibly
*Identify personal training and development needs
*Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
*Undertake additional duties as required
Requirements
*General knowledge of the engineering or pumping industry (desirable)
*Experience in a similar role or maintenance environment
*Experience with motors and/or pumps (desirable)
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*City & Guilds Level 3 – Inspection & Testing (initial and periodic)
*Electrical qualification to 17th or 18th Edition (BS7671)
*Confined Space Training (desirable)
*First Aid Certification (desirable)
*CSCS Card (desirable)
