Your new role
An established main contractor is seeking a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of projects. The role requires a commercially astute professional with strong experience working to the National Schedule of Rates (NSR) and proven capability managing projects through delivery and final accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
*Full commercial management of assigned works packages
*Preparation, assessment, and agreement of valuations
*Administering and managing change in accordance with the National Schedule of Rates
*Cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management
*Procurement and management of subcontractors
*Preparation and negotiation of final accounts
*Supporting the commercial strategy to maximise value and minimise risk
*Working closely with site and project teams to ensure robust cost control


What you’ll need to succeed
*Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on UK projects
*Strong demonstrable experience using the National Schedule of Rates (NSR)
*Background with main contractors preferred
*Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
*Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
*Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively
