Finance Assistant
Job Type: Part-time (25-30 hours per week)
Location: Daventry
We are seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our team in Daventry. This part-time role is crucial for managing our financial operations, including processing invoices, managing cash flow, and handling currency payments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of producing accurate financial reports and reconciliations.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Process all incoming invoices efficiently to ensure timely payments.
*Manage daily cash flow to optimise financial resources and ensure smooth operations.
*Perform daily reconciliation of all bank accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
*Manage currency payments and the ordering of currency to support business transactions.
*Produce detailed monthly reports for distribution to management to aid in strategic decision-making.
*Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in compliance with legal requirements.
*Handle intercompany invoices and perform reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for correctly.
*Produce monthly cash collection targets for the credit control team to optimize revenue collection.
*Provide cover for credit control during annual leave, ensuring continuous management of receivables.
*Assist with month-end and year-end processes to support financial closing and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in finance or a similar role, with a strong understanding of financial processes.
*Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
*Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
*Strong organisational and time management skills; able to meet tight deadlines.
*Good communication skills, capable of working effectively with various teams.
*Knowledge of VAT regulations and experience in preparing VAT returns.
