HGV Class 2 Driver – Birmingham (Aston, West Midlands)
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham (Aston), West Midlands, on a full-time basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent ongoing work, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position with a reputable business.
This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a HGV Class 2 Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver, or Multi-Drop Driver.
Shifts
*Monday to Friday
*Start times between 03:00 – 06:00
*Early finishes depending on route completion
Rates of Pay
*£16.00 – £17.20 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
As a HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
*Carrying out multi-drop store deliveries across the region
*Loading and unloading goods, including handballing where required
*Operating a Category C vehicle safely and efficiently
*Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts
*Ensuring all loads are secured correctly prior to transit
*Using tail lifts and electric/manual pump trucks
*Completing delivery paperwork accurately
*Communicating professionally with the transport team and customers
*Adhering to all road transport and health & safety regulations
*Typically completing 7–8 deliveries or collections per shift
Essential Skills
To be successful as a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:
*A valid UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence
*A minimum of 24 months’ Class 2 driving experience
*A valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
*No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements)
*A good level of spoken and written English
*Strong timekeeping and reliability
*A good understanding of road safety and driving regulations
*Excellent communication skills
Desirable (but Not Essential)
*Previous multi-drop delivery experience
*Experience using tail lifts and pump trucks
*Background within retail or store delivery environments
Training Provided
*Full paid induction and ongoing support provided
*Site-specific training on processes and procedures
